Evidence preservation sequence
- Save the complete notice. Keep every page, the envelope, email headers, portal screenshots and any attachment.
- Create a dated chronology. Record the event, issue date, receipt date, response, rejection and later enforcement documents.
- Preserve objective records. Save photographs, video, dashcam, payment receipts, bank entries, permits, booking records, location history, messages and vehicle documents lawfully available to you.
- Request time-limited evidence promptly. CCTV, business records and account logs may be overwritten, but requests do not automatically extend your legal deadline.
- Keep proof of response. Retain portal confirmations, email receipts, screenshots and postal proof. Use the method required by the notice.
- Do not edit originals. Work from copies and keep metadata or provenance where it may matter.
